The newly constructed Kokapet sewage water treatment plant of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB), costing Rs 66.16 crore, will be inaugurated at 10.30 am on Saturday. Dana Kishore, MD of the board, inspected the site and reviewed the preparations on Friday.
The Kokapet STP is listed to treat 15 million litres a day (MLD) of sewage. A statement said its advanced sequencing batch reactor
(SBR) technology would ensure that more water is treated in a smaller area using less electricity as compared to other similar units.
Once inaugurated, by Minister K.T. Rama Rao, the STP will generate wastewater generated from areas including Vattinagulapalli, TajnNagar, Journalist Colony, Gouli Doddi, ISB, Financial District and Wipro and Microsoft and nearby areas.
