Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao will lay the foundation stone for Balanagar flyover on Monday. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) had released Rs 25 crore to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for the land acquisition.

According to HMDA official, the Balanagar flyover passing from Bowenpally to Kukatpally Y junction would bring down the heavy traffic rush during peak hours. The Balanagar and Narsapur Crossroad flyover will have six lane roads and a provision for two



lane one-way loop ramp on either side from Jeedimetla traffic and other from Fathenagar traffic has been approached for right turning traffic from flyover.

The total width of the flyover is 24 metres and the length of grade separator is 1.9 kilometre of which 160.584 metre is towards Kukatpally and 149.416 metre is towards Bowenpally, the official said. The HMDA official said around 30,000 square yards land is required for the construction of flyover and the HMDA had already released Rs 25 crore to GHMC for the land acquisition.
