The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao will lay the foundation for over Rs 1,000 crore worth works in Karimnagar on Thursday.
Disclosing the details about the tour programme of MA&UD Minister to media persons here on Thursday, BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar stated that Rama Rao would lay the foundation for the prestigious Manair River Front project being taken up with Rs 410 crore and Mission Bhagiratha water pylon at Manair Bridge at 11 am. Out of Rs 410 crore works, water fountain and speed boats would be arranged by spending Rs 100 crore, he informed and assured to complete riverfront works in the coming 18 months period.
Later, Rama Rao would reach Markfed grounds wherein the Minister would lay foundation for Rs 615 crore worth Smart City works to be taken up by Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar. Stating that it was necessary to develop villages into towns, he said development was possible when the towns were modernized.
Informing that traffic islands and four new junctions would be developed in the town, he said that tendering process has already been completed to establish a traffic signaling system in the
town.
Foundation would also be laid for a dumping yard to be developed in nine acres of land with Rs 18 crore. Rama Rao would also lay the foundation for drainage works (Rs 133 crore), roads modernisation (Rs 90 crore), integrated markets, laying of CC roads across the town (Rs 23 crore) and digital library works.
Talking about the sanction of a medical college to the district by Chief Minister K Chandrashekahar Rao, Kamalakar said that they have examined 30 acres of land near Ujwala park as well as 46 acres of land belonging to seed company near Kothapalli. Informing to start medical college construction works by finalising the land, he said that classes would also be started from the next academic year.
Rama Rao would also lay the foundation for Rs 60 crore worth works in Choppadandi. Kamalakar appealed to the public representatives, officials and public to make Rama Rao’s visit a success by participating in the programme in a big way. Cultural council chairman Rasamai Balkishan, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kanumalla Vijaya, MLC Padi Koushik Reddy, Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar, Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao, SUDA Chairman GV Ramakrishna Rao and others were present.
