MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao will be laying foundation for construction of a four-lane bi-directional elevated corridor from Indira Park to VST and second level three-lane bi-directional flyover from Ram Nagar to Baghlingampally, on Saturday. The GHMC is constructing these structures with an estimated cost of Rs 426 crore.
Unlike the conventional flyovers, these independent flyovers will be made of steel and will have steel piers, steel pier cap, and steel
girder with cast in-situ deck slab. Both the bridges are being taken up under Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP).
The 2.610 km elevated corridor from Indira Park to VST junction will be constructed with a cost of nearly Rs 350 crore and the 0.850 km independent flyover from Ramnagar to Baghlingampally will be costing Rs 76 crore. This is excluding land acquisition cost, a press release said.
