Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao has urged Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to sanction Rs 1,300 crore for construction of skyways connecting national highways in Hyderabad.The State government is planning to construct a skyway on the national highway, which passes through Hyderabad and heads towards Warangal along the Outer Ring Road.
To this effect, Rao met Gadkari in New Delhi on Thursday and appealed for sanction of required permissions, besides extending financial



grant. He also sought Rs 250 crore for taking up repairs on the national highway from Dilsukhnagar to Abdullapur on the city fringes towards Vijayawada. A requisition was made to extend financial support for upgrading the roads from Aramgarh to Shamshabad airport on the Bengaluru national highway.
Later addressing media-persons, Rao said the Union Minister had responded positively to all the proposals. Central Government authorities will be holding a special meeting with State authorities very shortly.
