KTR urges Centre to release funds

Industries and IT minister KT Rama Rao requested the Centre to release promised financial assistance to Hyderabad Information Technology Investment Regions (ITIR) project whichwas sanctioned in 2013.

In a letter to Union IT minister, Rama Rao pointed that even after submission of project report, the funds were not released. The government approved a Policy Resolution in 2008 to set up ITIRs to promote investment in IT, ITES and



electronic hardware sector. The state IT department submitted a proposal to the Centre for creation and development of ITIR in an area of 202 square kms in Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Area. It was sanctioned in September 2013.

The Detailed Project Report was submitted twice to the Union government. A financial assistance to the tune of `3,275 crores for 3 projects was approved by the Centre.
