TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and IT minister KT Rama Rao engaged in a war of words on Twitter on Thursday.
In a pinned tweet, the issue that Uttam Kumar raked was about the police snooping on opposition leaders. “KT Rama Rao’s uncle DIG Prabhakar Rao and his cronies are snooping illegally on all Opposition leaders, including me, during this election campaign. They are brazenly violating all known election norms,” he said. He also urged the Election Commission of India to take serious cognizance of the matter.
Uttam Kumar added that another uncle of KTR, Radhakrishna Rao, had asked his Task Force to specifically search the cars of Opposition leaders and harass them. “All these illegal and partisan acts by KTR’s uncles now, will be dealt with
severely by the next Congress-led government,” he said.
Minister KT Rama Rao responded with fury. “Stop being downright crass and cheap,” he said, tweeting back to Uttam Kumar Reddy. “Are you insinuating that everyone who belongs to a community is related and biased? I understand your anxiety about cars being searched (as in 2014 when you were caught with Rs 3 crore cash stash). At least uphold dignity of the post you hold,” he said.
KTR further pointed out to “Uttam garu” that the Telangana police headed by DGP Mahendar Reddy had been consistently rated as the best in the country in maintaining law and order. “Let’s not unnecessarily politicise and demoralise hardworking Telangana officers,” he said.
