KTR wins fourth term from Sircilla

Rajanna-Sircilla: IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao has set a record by winning a fourth consecutive term as MLA from Sircilla constituency.

He won the seat by a margin of 89,009 over his Congress rival KK Mahender Reddy. While KTR secured 1,25,213 votes, Mahender Reddy got 36,204 votes.

Being a leader of Telangana agitation, KTR first time entered the poll battle in 2009 general elections and contested from Sircilla Assembly constituency. He won the 2009 and 2010 by-polls defeating KK Mahender Reddy.

In 2014, he again won the Sircilla segment by defeating Congress candidate Konduru Ravinder Rao, who is now in



TRS, with 53,004 votes majority. The margin this time has gone up to 89,000 votes.

Ch Ramesh Babu, who retained Vemulwada segment, also won the election for fourth consecutive term. He is the only politician who has been elected as MLA since inception of Vemulawda constituency in 2009.

Ramesh Babu, who fought the poll on TDP ticket in 2009, contested on TRS ticket in 2010 by-election and 2014 election polls.

Another TRS leader who was elected as MLA for fourth consecutive time is K Vidhyasagar Rao from Korutla by defeating Congress candidate Juvvadi Narsinga Rao.
