Hyderabad: Health Minister Dr C Laxma Reddy on Friday met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Health Minister JP Nadda in New Delhi to seek financial support for various healthcare initiatives that have been launched in Telangana.

During his interaction with Jaitley, he raised the pending issue of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) which was announced for Telangana before bifurcation but neither funds have been allocated nor there has been an official nod for the project.

Health Minister also drew Jaitley’s attention towards efficient



implementation of various Central government funded health schemes, which brought several awards to Telangana.

Later, in the Parliament House, Dr Reddy also met J P Nadda and during the interaction highlighted the success of recently started medical college in Mahabubnagar district. He said all arrangements were in place to start the construction work of medical college in Siddipet.

Mentioning the proposed medical colleges in Suryapet and Nalgonda, the Health Minister requested Nadda to expedite the permissions required to start the institutions.
