LED streetlights will be installed in three months: GHMC

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday held a meeting with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (ESSL), traffic and other authorities.GHMC is keen on installing LED street lighs in the city in the next three months,

The civic body presently has 4.50 lakhs street lights in the city and by going the LED way, power consumption could be slashed by over 55 per cent,



the GHMC Commissioner, B Janardhan Reddy said.The task to install LED streetlights has been assigned to ESSL and all required support to complete the works in three months would be extended by the GHMC, he said.  About 150 teams would be formed to take up the works and Reddy directed traffic authorities to ensure there was no inconvenience in the streetlight installation works.
