Lufthansa German Airlines announced direct services from Hyderabad to Frankfurt. It will deploy new 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the route. The new service connecting Hyderabad to Europe has begun on Jan.17 Lufthansa now operates direct connections from Germany to five destinations in India, with Hyderabad-Frankfurt being the latest addition to its global network. As the fastest growing major market for Lufthansa globally, capacity growth in India exceeds pre-pandemic levels.

“With our new Hyderabad-Frankfurt service we now offer Indian passengers 64 weekly flights to our hubs in Europe and onward connections to the biggest network on the European continent As we launch Hyderabad, our capacity to India has increased by 14% (relative to 2019), making it the fastest growing major market for Lufthansa. 

With Bangalore-Munich and now Hyderabad-Frankfurt services, we have launched two new routes in the past three months, recognising South India’s growing relevance and demonstrating the strong overall importance of India to the Lufthansa Group," said George Ettiyil, senior director -

With more than 700 employees in India and more than 60 year legacy in the country, Lufthansa remains committed to playing an integral role in India’s continued growth story, the official said. With five weekly departures (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday), flight LH753 will depart from Hyderabad at 01:55 hours. The return flight LH752 will depart from Frankfurt at 10:55 hours. In recent years, forty percent of travellers from India to North America chose European airports as transit hubs. The convenient timing of Lufthansa's flights aligns perfectly with this trend, offering efficient onward

"This connectivity will benefit travellers visiting Frankfurt as a transit point or for leisure trips and would open up multiple destinations in Europe, USA, Canada, and South America via Frankfurt. It has been our priority to connect our passengers to global destinations from the city of Hyderabad,” said Pradeep Panicker, chief executive officer of GMR Hyderabad International Airport, in a release.
