M Vijay appointed Doordarshan Yadagiri channel head

Veteran Indian Broadcasting Service official M. Vijay Bhagawan will assume office as the channel head of Doordarshan Yadagiri here on Tuesday.

Bhagawan, who has 32 years of experience in television programme production and management, was recruited through UPSC in the 1986 batch of programme officers. Trained in the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi and also trained by Thompson Group and Indo American Sub Committee in the production of multi camera setups and major sports



events, he has been producer for several national and international sports events including cricket.

He had started his service with Doordarshan Hyderabad, where he was the first direct recruitee through UPSC for Telugu programmes. He then went on to serve DD National, followed by DD India (international Channel) where, he was a programme coordinator and producer for Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas. He also served as the channel head for DD Urdu, was channel manager for DD Kashir, and was till recently with DD Saptagiri.
