Madhapur police busted Online betting racket, two arrested in Hyderabad

The Madhapur police arrested two persons who were illegally organizing online horse race betting and seized Rs 8 lakh cash, a laptop and mobile phones from them.

The arrested persons are identified as Y Venkateshwar Reddy and V Pradeep.

“Both the persons created a WhatsApp group by name P&V Company and were luring youngsters and businessmen to place betting on horse races. On information, they



were caught,” said DCP Madhapur, K Shilpavalli.

The suspects were accepting payments through online payment modes and transferring the profits to the participants through the same channels. The police noticed that many youngsters were getting involved in the betting and also encouraging their friends to participate.

The DCP appealed to the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children.
