Mana Telangana Kuragayalu launch on June 2

Sat 14 May 2016, 11:08:26
On the second anniversary of Telangana Formation Day on June 2, the government is launching a new scheme called ‘Mana Telangana Kuragayalu’ (our Telangana vegetables). Under this scheme fresh green vegetables can be ordered from the comforts of one’s home on phone.
Initially, the scheme would be launched in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits. On the instructions of Chief Minister KCR, State Agricultural Marketing department has started constructing 25 new Rythu Bazars, in addition to the existing 10 bazars,   at strategic places identified in the city.
Order for vegetables would be booked on phone and delivered to the customers within a range of two km radius from the nearest rythu bazar.
It may be mentioned here that the TRS had promised during 2014 elections that it would construct 100

rythu bazars in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) if voted to power. Taking cue from online shopping which had become popular, the government had decided to introduce this system.
The objective of the scheme is to sell vegetables procured from farmers by marketing department to the consumers directly. Service charges depending on the quantity of the orders would be charged from the customers. Vegetable prices would be decided everyday and the same would be displayed on official website for the convenience of the consumers.
Outsourcing staff would be employed at every bazaar for delivery.   The second advantage of the scheme is farmers would get remunerative price for their produce without involvement of middlemen. The marketing department would open counters and buy the produce from farmers every morning.
