Mancherial becomes hub of spurious cotton seed smuggling

Smuggling of banned spurious cotton seeds is going on unabated even as police try to curb the menace through different measures including invoking the Preventive Detention Act against habitual offenders in the district.

Mancherial district appears to be the



epicentre of the menace with a higher number of cases than those booked in Asifabad, Adilabad and Nirmal districts. The district saw 12 cases when compared to six cases reported in Adilabad district. Both Kumram Bheem Asifabad and Nirmal districts witnessed nominal cases of smuggling.
