The Manoharabad to Gajwel railway line will become operational by January 2019. Irrigation minister Harish Rao, who inspected the railway line works along with officials on Monday, asked them to complete the works as early as possible.
He said that of the total 31 kms from Manoharabad to Gajwel, the state government had completed land acquisition and handed it to the SCR for laying it. “While 17 km has been completed, the remaining 14 km need to be
completed on a war-footing,” he said.
Railway authorities informed the minister that the works would begin this August and completed in the next three months. They said they would try to operate trains from New Year. Harish Rao said that a high-level meeting with railway authorities would be held on Tuesday in Hyderabad on bottlenecks and stations on the 31-km railway line especially on erection of electricity towers.
