Masjid Muezzin committed suicide in Bhavani Nagar

A Masjid Muezzin committed suicide in Bhavani Nagar area of the Old City. The deceased was identified as Asghar Badshah Abdul Rahi Sheik (28), a native of Bihar. He joined as the Muezzin of the Masjid E Fatehshah in Talabkatta.

On Tuesday afternoon, locals informed the police about his hanging in his room, which is on the first floor of the Masjid. On receiving the information, Mohammed Amjad Ali, inspector of the Bhavani Nagar police station



along with the clues team reached the spot. The deceased’s body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.

“There seems to be personal reasons behind the his suicide. We have seized his mobile phone and are verifying facts,” said police.

Locals had also gathered near the Masjid, causing panic in the area. The police have registered a case under suspicious death and investigation is underway.
