BRS working president KT Rama Rao said all arrangements have been made for the party’s silver jubilee public meeting at Elkathurthy on April 27, which is set to be one of the largest gatherings in the party’s 25-year history.
Party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao will address his first public meeting in several months. “People are eager to see and listen to him again,” he said during an informal interaction on Friday.
The event is being held on a sprawling 1,300-acre site, with over 1,000 acres earmarked for parking. Five parking zones have been set up for vehicles from different districts.
Massive arrangements are in place — 2,000 volunteers, 200 mobile patrol vehicles, 25 towing vehicles, 250 CCTV cameras connected to a command centre, 250 generators, and a separate stage
for cultural programmes, among others.
The meeting will start at 5 pm with flag hoisting, followed by tributes to Telangana Thalli and martyrs, and Chandrashekhar Rao’s speech. BRS leaders will hoist party flags in respective villages across Telangana on April 27 morning, before starting off for Warangal.
Large crowds are expected from erstwhile districts of Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar and Medak, besides other districts of the State.
Responding to a question, Rama Rao also revealed plans to launch the party membership drive in May and hold internal polls from May to October, including the party president’s election.
The year-long silver jubilee celebrations aim to energise the party cadre and connect with the public, especially the youth.
