Hyderabad: The junior doctors at Osmania General Hospital on Sunday night boycotted all their duties including emergency services following an alleged  attack on women house surgeon and a PG student by attenders of a patient. 

The junior doctors have also decided to continue with their mass strike on Monday till the alleged attackers are arrested. 
 
Meanwhile, medicos from other teaching hospitals including Gandhi hospital are expwctes to join the mass strike on Monday.  The issue of safety for medical professionals at State-run health institutions in Hyderabad has come into focus once again on Sunday when attenders of a patient allegedly attacked a medicine Post Graduate



and a female House Surgeon at Osmania General Hospital (OGH). 
 

According to members of TS Junior Doctors Association, both the medicos were badly beaten up by attenders of patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at OGH.  According to reports, the junior doctors, were trying to explain the critical nature of the patient to the attenders when the alleged incident happened. 

According to junior doctors, help in the form of security personnel came after 45 minutes of the incident. Meanwhile, the PG medical students have formally lodged a complaint with the hospital administration and demanded immediate arrest of the persons who were involved in the alleged attack.
