Mee Seva centres declares bandh from Nov 1

Sat 27 Oct 2018, 10:49:13
The 4,500 MeeSeva centres across the state have declared a bandh from November 1. The centers, which were established to reduce corruption in departments requiring public interface in 2011, are facing many issues from the departments concerned.

The centres are complaining against the indefinite extension of the period within which an application has to be approved or rejected, removal of services from MeeSeva centres and asking citizens to submit certificates in the department offices which is leading to corruption again.

Representations

made to the government regarding these  problems have gone in vain.

The bandh might affect services like providing caste, income, residence and other certificates.

Mr Mohammad Abdul Moheed, general secretary, Telangana MeeSeva Joint Action Committee, said, “Though we act as a bridge between citizens and departments, we have to face the brunt of the people’s anger for the delay in services. We do not get proper answers from the officials for the delay, but we are answerable to the public.”
