The differences between loyalists and turncoats who joined the Congress recently came to the fore at AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan’s meeting with party leaders, with a few complaining that loyalists were not being given due recognition.

Along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and other Ministers, Natarajan held a meeting with Medak Parliamentary constituency leaders at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday.

During the meeting, it is learnt that Katta Srinivas Goud expressed his unhappiness over the state of affairs in the constituency. Goud reminded that he was loyal to the party but senior leaders were according priority to turncoat MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy and sidelining him, party sources said.

In reply, the AICC in-charge said the party leadership was keeping a close

watch on the affairs in different constituencies. She assured that justice would be delivered to loyal leaders.

Later, she held a meeting with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha over the issue, they said.

With leaders getting divided on communal lines and expressing their views in public, Natarajan asked the leaders to maintain discipline and warned of stern action, irrespective of their position in the party.

During the meeting, the AICC in-charge also took strong objection over leaders failing to maintain discipline and discussing the party’s internal affairs in public. She sought feedback of the leaders over the Congress government’s governance in the State, especially caste census and SC classification, party sources added.
