Wed 05 Sep 2018, 13:00:55
Patronage for the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) crossed the 20 million mark on Tuesday, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd (LTMRHL) said and extended a ‘big thank you’ to Hyderabadis for embracing the HMR services.

KVB Reddy, managing director and CEO of LTMRHL, said: “I am delighted and I am very thankful to all the Hyderabadis for welcoming and embracing HMR services in an overwhelming manner. We have touched this number earlier than expected with only the Nagole–Ameerpet–Miyapur stretch in operation.”

Reddy further said: “We are sure that these numbers will increase manifold once the Ameerpet–LB Nagar stretch is opened.” HMR whose commercial operations were inaugurated in November last year now sees a

daily average ridership of more than one lakh commuters.

Reddy said the passengers will soon be able to enjoy new facilities which will be introduced across metro stations. At present, all metro stations have free drinking water facility and free rest rooms. “Our endeavour is to consistently improve passenger services. Display of train timings on platforms and regular announcements of all facilities inside the trains and on platforms for the benefit of the passengers has begun,” he explained. The MD of LTMRHL said the last and first mile connectivity measures have significantly improved. “There are many options available once one deboards the train to reach the destination,” he said.
