The Madhapur Metro Rail station on the Ameerpet-Hitec City route will be opened for passengers on Saturday, according to Hyderabad Metro Rail limited (HMRL). The Jubilee Hills checkpost metro station, which is still closed for passengers, is expected to be opened by the end of May.
Initially when the 10-kilometre Ameerpet-Hitec City route was launched on March 20, three stations including Jubilee Hills checkpost, Peddammagudi and Madhapur were not opened for public. Much to the relief of passengers, on March 30, the HMRL authorities opened Peddammagudi Metro
station.
Currently, the services on the route are being operated under ‘twin single line method’ as construction of reverse facility beyond Hitec City station in front of Cyber Towers and Hotel Trident is likely to be completed in a couple of months.
The frequency of trains on the route is maintained between nine and 12 minutes, as against six minutes frequency on the other Metro corridors. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) officials expect the patronage to increase further once the first and last mile connectivity was established.
