Metro Water Board hikes tanker rates from Sep 1

The Metro Water Board has increased the rates for water tankers following persistent requests from the owner associations. “Considering that the domestic rates were not revised since 2011 and do not reflect the inflation in the constituent components such as fuel, lubricants, servicing, repairs and salaries apart from the steep hike in rates of insurance and RTA fitness certificates, taxes, the Board



has revised the rates,” said a board official. The new rates will come into effect from September 1. The new rates are as follows. 

Domestic:

5 KL: Rs 600 (Old rate Rs 400); 10 KL: Rs 1,150 (Old rate Rs 800)

Commercial:

5 KL: Rs 900 (Old rate Rs 700); 10 KL: Rs 1,750 (Old rate Rs 1,400)
