Hyderabad: Muslims in Telangana celebrated Milad-un-Nabi with religious fervour and zeal with thousands taking part in religious processions in the city and district headquarters.
Several localities in the old city were draped in green hues on Saturday and streets were decorated with green flags, LED bulbs and other illuminations.
Sunni Dawat-e-Islami and Sunni United Forum of India took out two separate processions to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammed. Tahreek-e-Dawat-e-Islami and other organisations also held bike rallies in different parts of the
city.
The blood donation camps organized by Muslim social and religious organisations in the old city as well as other parts of the State on the occasion were thronged by donors in large numbers.
A religious public meeting was organised by MIM at Darussalam on Friday night where Moulana Ateef Miya Quadri from Badaun, UP, Asaduddin Owaisi and other religious scholars addressed the gathering.
Acharya Pramod Krishnan president of All India Sant Samethi Sri Kaliki Dham, Sambhal, UP, attended a meeting conducted by Majlis-e-Tamir-e-Millat at exhibition ground.
