Hectic preparations are underway across the city for Milad-un-Nabi falling on September 16. The day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed and is celebrated on the 12th day of the month of Rabi ul Awal, the third month of Hijri calendar.

On the day, the community groups organize blood



donation, fruit distribution, cloth donation, religious meetings and competitions in Islam related topics. Food is also served to the poor and the destitute at camps organized at different places.

Around two dozen blood donation camps are scheduled to be held in next two days in the city to mark the occasion.
