The Salar-e-Millat Educational Trust will be opening more educational institutions in the slum areas of Telangana and Maharashtra to provide free education to the students hailing from poor financial backgrounds.

The trust formed by AIMIM party floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi already runs five schools named Owaisi School of Excellence (OSE) in the backward areas of the old city. The schools offer free education to the children from poor families located at Nashemannagar, Riyatsatnagar, Hafeez Babanagar, Amberpet and Narqi Phoolbagh.

Akbaruddin Owaisi said, “education on part with international standards is offered free of cost to the students in the schools. Qualified teachers have been recruited to impart best education to the children.” The schools are equipped with digital classrooms, state-of-art classrooms, furniture and the campuses present a corporate look, he said.Following the success of the schools and demand for more schools the trust has planned to start few more schools in the city and Nizamabad district in Telangana.

“Plans are also there to set up schools in Malegaon, Bhiwandi and Nanded

districts. Already the preliminary works have been completed here,” Akbaruddin Owaisi said.

The legislator also told that there are plans to construct an 11 storied building at Bandlaguda where an impressive educational campus for girls will be opened. The building will have a junior college, a degree college and also a hostel for outstation students who cannot afford private accommodation. “We will also be providing civil services training to the IAS and IPS aspirants from the city and districts too. All free of cost,” he said.

Last academic year, the trust provided free coaching to SSC students in the old city at its educational institutions. Around 700 students had attended the coaching and those who scored above 8.5 score in the SSC public examination are being provided financial assistance for intermediate level studies.

“If they excel at intermediate level the educational expenses of undergraduate and postgraduate level will be met by the trust,” he said. This apart, the trust is also imparting vocational training in various trades to women at its institutions.
