MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Wednesday wrote to Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao requesting him to raise the budgetary allocation for the minorities welfare department to Rs.4,100 crore in 2018-19. Mr.Owaisi said the actual releases were only Rs.2,702 crore and expenditure, Rs.2,330 crore. He hoped that the expenditure would reach Rs.2,500 crore the end of the financial year.

Mr.Akbaruddin Owaise asked for higher allocations for minorities residential schools, loan programmes, scholarships and fees reimbursement on par with the SC/ST, as assured by the Chief Minister.
He said that the requested amount would be only two percent of the Rs.2 lakh crore State Budget that the government was contemplating for 2018-19.
