Traffic at Mindspace Junction eased a lot after Chief Secretary SK Joshi formally opened the flyover constructed at the junction with a cost of Rs.48.06 crore.
The 830-metre long flyover will facilitate bidirectional traffic flow from Inorbit Mall end towards Ikea end. The four-lane bidirectional flyover was a much needed facility at Mindspace as it is one of the high traffic zones in the IT corridor.
Addressing on the occasion, Chief Secretary SK Joshi complimented the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation for completing the structure well in advance.
Hyderabad is developing into a global city and major traffic woes were
being addressed by constructing flyovers, underpasses and others as part Strategic Road Development Programme, he said.
GHMC Chief Engineer R. Sridhar said the flyover project was to be completed in two years but the structure was completed in 16 months to ease traffic flow at Mindspace junction.
He said works pertaining to other structures being taken up under SRDP were being taken up at brisk pace. The LB Nagar RHS flyover and Rajiv Gandhi flyover will be opened to traffic in January 2019, he added.
MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore were present on the occasion.
