Telangana Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy yesterday said the new MLA quarters will be inaugurated soon in the city and will be given to the legislators. The State government had spent Rs 116 crore on construction of the quarters for MLAs, who will soon occupy the flats built in 2,500 sq yards area.
Talking to media persons here yesterday, the Speaker said the new quarters for the MLAs were built with modern facilities and ready to occupy. The government will soon
open them and distribute among the MLAs, he said. All the 119 MLAs elected in the recent Assembly elections and a nominated MLA, will get the new quarters, he said. A committee will be formed to allocate the quarters as per norms so far followed, he said. Spread in 4.5 acres sprawling campus at Hyderguda, each flat was built in 2,500 sq yards, he said. For parking purpose, three cellars have been built that would provide space for 200 vehicles, he said.
