Elections for four more MLC seats for Graduates and Teachers constituencies in Telangana State will be held on March 22, the Election Commission of India announced on Sunday.

The election is necessitated following the retirement of K Swamy Goud (Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad, Karimnagar Graduates’), Paturi Sudhakar Reddy (Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad, Karimnagar Teachers’) Poola Ravinder (Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda Teachers’) whose terms come to an end on March 29 and MS Prabhakar (Hyderabad Local Authorities’) whose term ends on May

The EC said that Amendment of Delimitation Order of Council of Constituencies in Telangana was under process. The Commission, however, decided to conduct the elections as per the existing delimitation.

Notification for the four elections will be issued on February 25, and the last date for filing of nominations is March 5. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on March 6 and the last date for withdrawal will be March 8. The counting of votes will be taken up on March 26 after polling on March 22.
