The fares of the Multi-Modal Transport Service (MMTS) is set to reduce by up to 50 percent for first-class single journey passengers from today.
An official release stated that the class base fares for single journeys for the passengers traveling in the MMTS trains over sub-urban sections is reduced following a decision by the Ministry of Railways to rationalize the basic fares of first-class in the suburban train services with effect from 5th of this month.
The South-Central Railways is operating currently 86 services
benefiting sub-urban passengers, post-COVID lockdown. The MMTS trains in Hyderabad are being operated across a stretch of 50 km spread over the sections of Falaknuma-Secunderabad-Hyderabad-Begumpet-Lingampalli-Telapur-Ramchandrapuram covering 29 Railway stations.
As per the fares, the First-class fare for the first 10 km will be halved to 25 rupees from the current 50 rupees. Similarly, the first-class fare for 36-45 km distance will be reduced to 90 rupees from the current 155 rupees.
