Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 8th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad from November 28-30 at HICC.
Announcing this at a press conference here, Dr. Murali Krishna Kumar, Senior Advisor NITI Aayog said that India is co-hosting the GES with the United States. The US delegation will be led by Ivanka Trump advisor to the US President Donald Trump. He said that this year’s theme is ‘Women First Prosperity to All’, highlighting the critical role women play in fostering global growth and prosperity. The summit will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.
Dr. Kumar said that the summit will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, educators, government officials and starting
ecosystem supporters. He further said that the GES 2017 agenda consists of breakout sessions, and workshops. He said the summit in Hyderabad will focus on four innovative, high growth industries – namely health care and life sciences, digital economy and financial technology, energy and infrastructure and media and entertainment. To inspire the culture of entrepreneurship “Road to GES”, series are being planned in different cities in India and US to promote investment opportunities and maximise the strength of cities potential for prosperity. GES 2017 will present a unique opportunity to connect and establish meaningful partnerships amongst entrepreneurs and investors. An ‘app’ will be launched two weeks before the summit to facilitate this mechanism, he added.
