Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Friday flagged off 17 mobile restrooms and toilets for women police officers on bandobast duties.

The 17 vehicles have been distributed to various district headquarters for deployment to Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, and eventually the number will increase to 25 in due course. The vehicles have state-of-the-art amenities including toilets, changing room, and two wash-basins fitted with a water tank which can easily be used by 100 individuals per fill.

Each vehicle is well-equipped, having an efficient high pressure self-cleaning system. Three sun roofs have been provided for natural lighting and ventilation, which helps

to terminate the bacteria and algae formation.

The interior sidewalls and tanks are made of SS304 grade stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant and known for hygiene.

The floor has been carefully designed to make it water stagnation free. Motorised disposal of waste has been designed wherein the need for manual scavenging is eliminated.

The salon is equipped with cross-flow air ventilation so as to enable fresh air and eliminate bad odour in the cabin. No-smell filters are fitted into the septic tanks which absorb bad odour and keep the surroundings of the vehicle stench-free.
