Giving relief to Haj pilgrims, the cost of the pilgrimage has been reduced from Rs 4.11 lakh to Rs 3.05,173, according to the Union ministry of minority affairs. It is estimated that around 8,000 pilgrims from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra will be embarking from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here from June 7.
Telangana State Haj Committee (TSHC) chairman Mohammad Saleem inspected the Haj terminal at the RGIA on Tuesday. He said that better arrangements should be made for the convenience of
pilgrims.
Arrangements such as wazu and namaz area, holding area, exit gate, immigration counters, security check and space for zam-zam storage and its security and location should be made at the main terminal building, he said.
Saleem also suggested that RGIA officials make necessary departure arrangements for Haj pilgrims. TSHC executive officer B. Shafiullah, Syed Nizamuddin, Sheik Ahmad Patel, Syed Gulam Ahmad Hussain, CISF, customs and other officials were present.
