The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announcing that the Southwest monsoon is likely to hit the city by June 5.
Owing to the hastened movement of the annual monsoon, a lifeline for millions of farmers in the country, the city will experience light rains initially , before it intensifies gradually . Officials monitoring movement of the monsoon said that it has already hit the Kerala coast and most of the Northeastern states, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
“The monsoon is moving two days ahead of its scheduled
arrival. The presence of cyclone Mora which hit the Bangladesh coast, has aided in the advancement of the monsoon. We expect the monsoon to cover entire Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with increased rainfall in both the states from June 3,“ said Dr YK Red dy, IMD director (in-charge), Hyderabad.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday , 0.3 degree Celsius lower than the seasonal average. The minimum temperature was recorded at a comfortable 27. 6 deg ree Celsius with strong winds blowing through out the day.
