In 48 hours, the much awaited south-west monsoon will make an appearance in the state and the city, say meteorologists.Officials from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) say that existing weather conditions over the state will aid the advance of the monsoon into more parts of the southern peninsula.“Rains will pick up pace over Telangana including Hyderabad. The arrival of monsoon over the state is predicted to be June 7,“ said Mahesh Palawat, chief meteorologist, Skymet, a private weather forecasting unit.

Rainfall activity over the city is anticipated to

intensify, with cyclonic circulation over the central parts of Arabian Sea flowing through Maharashtra coast and a trough extending to the Kerala and Karnataka coasts.

Day time temperatures which were hovering between 40-42 degrees Celsius, dropped to a pleasant 37.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday. The weather is set to become even better, giving residents relief the humid and dry weather conditions. Apart from a few spells of rain in May, the city has remained considerably dry. On and off rains have been battering the city over the last two days.
