Monsoon Session of Telangana State Legislature will begin this morning amidst unprecedented precautions in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The precautions and guidelines of Parliament are strictly being followed. It has been made mandatory for Ministers, Members, officials and even legislative secretariat to undergo COVID tests and obtain COVID-19 negative certificate for gaining entry into the premises.
The Business Advisory Committees of both the houses will be finalising the exact business to be taken up during the session in the meetings to be held later today. As per the preparations, the session is likely to continue for about 15 days and scheduled to take up a few key legislations including the New Revenue Bill besides discussing several issues of public importance such as
COVID-19 pandemic, recent floods, financial situation in the state and the recent fire accident occurred in Srisailam left bank Power House.
Several restrictions on the movement of even Ministers, officials and media among others have been put in place for the session as it is being held in the backdrop of the COVID-19 and entry of the visitors has been barred. The opposition including the Congress party has already announced that it will highlight the public issues including the government's alleged failure in taking measures to control the Pandemic.
On the first day today, both the houses are scheduled to take up condolence motion and pay homage to former President of India Pranab Mukherjee and suspend the Question Hour.
