The southwest monsoon is all set to enter Telangana on Friday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, said in a weather update on Thursday.
IMD authorities said the presence of an upper air cyclonic over west central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Bay of Bengal, has made conditions favourable for the monsoon to advance into Telangana.
“The southwest monsoon will first
hit the southern districts and gradually extend to other districts in north Telangana. The intensity is very active over coastal Andhra Pradesh as all districts will receive heavy rainfall for the next three days,” said Raja Rao, meteorologist at IMD, Hyderabad.
The weathermen also issued a heavy rainfall warning, accompanied with thunderstorm and gusty winds, for Friday.
