A woman died, allegedly by suicide, after killing her two children in their house in Rajendranagar on Saturday. She is suspected to have been upset after frequent fights with her husband and ended her life, police said.
The victims were Swathi alias Swetha (35), and her children Tanvik (5) and Shreya (3).
According to the police, Swetha’s husband Sai Kumar, who works for a software firm in the city, had taken bank loans and also hand loans, but failed to repay them on time, resulting in pressure
mounting on him from banks and financiers. With the stress going up, he allegedly picked up frequent fights with Swetha at home. He reportedly blamed her saying she was the reason for his financial problems.
Upset over this, Swetha is suspected to have first hanged their two children from the ceiling fan and later hanged herself. Sai Kumar, who returned home late evening on Saturday, found them dead and informed the police.
The Rajendranagar police booked a case of murder-suicide and started investigation.
