MRO suspended on charge of corruption in Nagarkurnool

A Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) has been suspended on the charges of corruption by the district collector E Sreedhar. 

Mallikarjuna Rao, an MRO of Padara Mandal in Nagarkurnool has faced the charges after a video him accepting bribe for issuing land pattas surfaced online. Rao is said to have demanded Rs 1500 per



farmer for getting their lands registered under their names. 

A farmer who opposed the officer's demand recorded a video of the MRO counting money and asking more from the farmers. 

The video was brought to the notice of the district collector who initiated action against the officer.
