City police commissioner C.V. Anand took yet another opportunity to highlight the syncretic culture of Hyderabad, sharing a video of some Muslim youths helping lift a Ganesh idol that had toppled from a vehicle at Yousufguda.
"Muslim youth Faheem, Jaffar and few others came forward to help lifting and placing it (the idol) properly, amply displaying the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb of
this city," Anand wrote on X (formerly Twitter). The incident happened on Thursday.
Netizens heaped praise on the youths. Dr P.M. Dhakate wrote, "Heartwarming unity! These acts of kindness and respect for each other's beliefs showcase the true spirit of our diverse country and city."
