The cruise boat services from Nagarjuna Sagar to Srisailam, covering 110 kms of Krishna river, will resume on September 8 with the increased water level at Nagarjuna Sagar and the river between the two dams making it perfect for the six-hour ride.
Officials of Tourism Department have decided to resume the launch services in view of water level in Nagarjuna Sagar Project which has touched 587 feet.
The boat ride on River Krishna presents a wonderful experience to tourists with the cruise passing through some very beautiful scenic areas with hills and Nallamala forest. Manager of Nagarjuna Sagar Launch Station Hari Babu said three packages would be available to the
people.
The charge of Hyderabad-Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam-Hyderabad Road cum River Cruise package will be Rs 3,000 for adults and Rs 2,400 for children. The second package is one-way trip — Hyderabad-Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam, with the ticket priced at Rs 2,200 for adults and Rs 1,800 for children. The third package, Nagarjuna Sagar to Srisailam will cost Rs 1,000 for adults and Rs 800 for children. The packages include food, accommodation and darshan at Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam.
However, for those who opt for Nagarjuna Sagar-Srisailam package, accommodation at Srisailam would not be provided. The cruise packages would be operated on Saturdays and Wednesdays, he said.
