The eagerly awaited Nagole-Hi-Tec City stretch of Hyderabad Metro rail is expected to be up and running by mid-December, this year.
Speaking after the inauguration of Ameerpet to LB Nagar stretch of Hyderabad Metro rail, on Monday, Governor ESL Narasimhan told authorities to ensure that the Hi-Tec City line of the Hyderabad Metro Rail is completed by December 15, this year.
Works pertaining to construction of Metro rail networks are currently ongoing along two stretches in the 15 kilometre stretch between Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and Mahatma Gandhi bus station (MGBS), which falls along Corridor II of the Hyderabad Metro rail and in the 28 kilometre long stretch between Nagole and Hi-Tec City, which
falls on Corridor III of the Metro rail network.
After flagging off the Metro train from the Ameerpet interchange metro station, on Monday, the Governor also advised authorities to quickly introduce the ‘smart card’ ticketing system.
According to Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director NVS Reddy, the Hi-Tec City stretch is the most eagerly awaited Metro rail link in the city and is expected to see the maximum passenger traffic, among all the stretches.
According to NVS Reddy, a few technical works pertaining to signalling are currently being carried out on the Ameerpet-Hi-Tec City Metro rail stretch.
