Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday came out with all guns blazing and decimated the Opposition allegations of lack of development, neglect of various sections of society and heightened corruption in the State during the four-and-half year rule of the TRS government.
Singling out UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for making baseless allegations, the TRS president wondered what was causing pin-pricks to the former when she said she was concerned about the people of Telangana State, at her Medchal meeting.
“Is it because you are not receiving your monthly commission from the State that you were used to in undivided Andhra Pradesh or is it because the TRS government has stopped farmers’ and weavers’ suicides through its development and welfare schemes, he asked, even as
the crowd cheered him on.
Chandrashekhar Rao did not spare Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu who, he said, was responsible for several scams in undivided Andhra Pradesh. “Naidu is a mental case because he keeps repeating that he is responsible for building Hyderabad when he has not been able to place even one brick in place for the construction of Amaravathi. The capital’s founder, Quli Qutub Shah, would be turning in his grave if he gets to hear Naidu,” he said.
Asking people to be cautious about their vote since this was a crucial election for the State, the Chief Minister said: “Do not cast your vote under pressure, think and compare who is capable of doing what and then take your decision.”
