Nizamabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao narrowly escaped a mishap during the nomination rally of BRS candidate A. Jeevan Reddy in Armoor on Thursday, when their campaign vehicle stopped short, just ahead of some electricity wires.
Rama Rao, BRS MP K.R. Suresh Reddy and Jeevan Reddy were standing on a platform built on top of a vehicle. When the driver stopped upon noticing the power cables, the railing of the platform broke.
Rama Rao lurched forward but retained his footing, holding on to
a
loudspeaker. He was helped by his security personnel, while Suresh Reddy fell and sustained injuries. He was admitted to a hospital. Jeevan Reddy fell on the vehicle and was helped up by police personnel who were accompanying the vehicle.
Later, Jeevan Reddy filed his papers and Rama Rao left for a poll campaign in the Kodangal Assembly constituency. The video clip of the mishap went viral on social media.
Rama Rao said he was doing fine and there was no need to worry.
