National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) has opened a retail outlet complex at Bharatnagar metro station on Tuesday.

Dr C Suvarna, chief executive, NFDB inaugurated the fish retail outlets complex at ground floor of Bharatnagar metro station, Hyderabad. The complex consists of 16 shops, which have been modified to sell the fish and fishery products in hygienic condition.

On this occasion, officials of NFDB, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) and Telangana State Fishermen Cooperative Societies Federation Ltd



(TSFCOF), FISCOPFED, and CPWD, were present. The fish merchants of allotted fish retail outlets also attended the event. It is anticipated that the fish retail outlets would cater to the growing demand for fish and fishery products in Hyderabad.

It will also aid in creation of substantial employment opportunities for the local fishers boosting up of per capita fish consumption in Telangana State. Dr C Suvarna advised the fish merchants present on the occasion to supply quality fish at affordable rates and not to go for competition amongst themselves.
