National meet on women in media to be held from Nov 11

The 12th National Meet of Network of Women in Media, India (NWMI) will be held here from November 11-13 on Osmania University campus. Within the overall theme “Gender and the Media: Continuities and Discontinuities,’’ the meeting will explore issues such as ‘Inclusive newsrooms’ and diversity of class, caste and ethnicity in the media.

There will be an open session exploring the changing concerns in the media, sexual harassment and representation of



gender in the media. The session ‘Is small always beautiful?’ will examine the implications of TS formation. Session on reporting from conflict areas will look at the challenges of women journalists reporting on conflict in various parts of the country.
