Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the construction of the Indian Navy's Low Frequency Radar Station (LFRS) in the Damagundam forest area of the Parigi constituency is scheduled to commence in February. The Chief Minister announced it after a meeting with Indian Navy Commander Karthik Shankar, who, along with Parigi MLA T. Ram Mohan Reddy, discussed the progress of the LFRS project at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Commander Karthik Shankar assured the Chief Minister that the construction of the LFRS would be carried out without causing harm to the forest area and the Damagundam temple. The Chief Minister stressed that the development of the temple in the same area



would proceed without any obstacles.

Highlighting the positive impact of the radar station's establishment, Karthik Shankar mentioned that it would lead to the construction of navy facilities, fostering development in the Parigi region and generating employment opportunities.

In order to ensure the smooth completion of the project, Revanth Reddy instructed Parigi MLA to coordinate with Navy officials. The meeting, attended by Colonel Himvant Reddy, Navy Staff Sandeep Das, Raj Bir Singh, Mani Sharma, Manoj Sharma, and others, focused on addressing key aspects of the upcoming LFRS construction.
