Home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy inaugurated a new building and a command control centre for the Telangana State Special Police 8th Battalion at Kondapur on Monday.The new two-storied building was constructed by Telangana State Police Housing Corporation (TSPHC) under MOPF (Modernization of Police Funds) at a cost of `4.32 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, Narasimha Reddy praised the efforts of the state police in maintaining law and order in the state. He said that the government wanted to make the state crime free and gave the highest priority to police
department.
He also stressed on the need of installing cctv cameras as part of community policing. “Recently, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao asked all the ministers to donate `1 crore towards cctv project. The cameras are force multipliers that help the police in preventing and detecting crimes,” said the minister.
Further, DGP Anurag Sharma said that the modern building of the TSSP Battalion which is equipped with a command and control center will help the senior police officers to monitor the training programs and also to do better administration from the headquarters.
